Matthew's Wish To Meet... Sidney Crosby!

Matthew is a brave 7 year old boy who was diagnosed with Parry Romberg Syndrome & CNS Vasculitis. He Loves hockey (with a capital L) and his favorite player is Sidney Crosby. It wasn't a surprise when asked what his most cherished wish would be that it was to meet Sidney.

For his wish, Matthew and his family flew to Pittsburgh, home of the Pittsburgh Penguins and of course, Sidney Crosby. After a night at the hotel, the family was well rested and ready for the big day! That morning a Make-A-Wish representative from the Pittsburgh chapter met with the family and brought them to the CONSOL Energy arena where a staff member from the Pittsburgh Penguins gave Matthew and his older brother Pittsburgh Penguins gift bags. Matthew and his family were given a private tour of the arena and then invited to watch the Penguins practice. After all that excitement, they were brought to the locker room of the Pittsburgh Penguins where they got to meet several players. After most of the players left the room, Sidney Crosby came over and spoke with Matthew and his family. He took pictures, signed autographs and even gave Matthew one of his hockey sticks. Matthew couldn't stop smiling! The family is very grateful to everyone that helped make this wish a reality!

Thanks to the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Make-A-Wish Pittsburgh chapter Matthew and his family have some great memories to last them a lifetime.
